Christian teacher alleged to have committed child sex offenses; school references Scripture in choice to inform authorities

Teachers at private Christian schools in Virginia face allegations of child sex offenses.

Katelin Campbell began her role at Ch Friend School at the start of the 2024-2025 school year.

“The Bible clearly states that what is done in the dark will be exposed,” Dana Jones, the school’s principal in South Boston, Virginia, said to Blaze News after receiving information about the claims against Campbell on August 4th.

Jones shared that two board members went directly to the South Boston Police within an hour of receiving the information. “We reported everything disclosed to us,” she explained.

She confirmed to Blaze News that Campbell is no longer with the school, noting that the teacher resigned the same day the allegations became known.

Jones emphasized their commitment to full transparency, stating, “We prioritized doing what was right rather than hiding it away.” She referenced a Biblical passage, which seemingly echoes Luke 8:17.

In an effort to help clarify the situation, she expressed understanding of the need to involve law enforcement in the investigation. “We knew it was important to let them carry on,” she remarked.

Jones added that the school’s community—boards, faculty, and students—are going through a tough time as a result of these events.

Campbell was arrested late on August 14th but was released on a $2,500 bond shortly after. She is accused of taking indecent liberties with a child, specifically one in her custody who was over 15 years old.

Teaching English to students from 7th to 12th grade, Campbell’s alleged incident took place on November 1, 2024, according to reports citing county records.

Though Jones declined to confirm if the victim was a student at the school, it was noted that the victim is male.

As of now, there has been no immediate detail release from federal prosecutors or South Boston police regarding Campbell’s arrest.
