Trump to Join Law Enforcement Patrols in D.C.

President Donald Trump has revealed his intention to directly engage in law enforcement and National Guard patrols in Washington, D.C., aiming to intensify efforts against rising crime in the area.

This announcement was made during a radio interview on Thursday, although it wasn’t part of his official schedule. Trump shared with conservative radio host Todd Sturnes that he plans to “go out” alongside police and military personnel to monitor the increased federal presence.

“I’m going out tonight with the police and the military. Of course we’re going to do our job. The National Guard is great. They did a great job,” Trump remarked.

Since federal officers arrived in D.C. on August 7, reports indicate over 600 arrests have been made, including at least 251 individuals living in the country illegally.

However, the federal intervention has sparked controversy and pushback. D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser and other local officials have opposed the measures, emphasizing that the focus should be on tackling the most violent criminals rather than immigration issues or displacing homeless encampments.

This is an evolving story, so stay tuned for further updates.
