Canton, Georgia – During a recent visit, Second Lady Usha Vance referred to Melania Trump as a “role model” and a “trailblazer” when asked by Russian President Vladimir Putin about a book promoting peace that might interest Mrs. Trump.

“I really admire her approach, especially how much she cares about the kids,” Vance shared with Fox News Digital. She was at the Cherokee Classic Academy for the occasion.

Vance emphasized Melania Trump’s commitment to children’s welfare. “Every time she speaks out about keeping kids safe and helping them grow up happy and healthy, it’s a good thing,” she noted. “It’s why I see her as a role model.”

In a letter addressed to Russian leaders, Melania Trump expressed that it was crucial to safeguard children and future generations globally. This letter was delivered in Alaska just before a summit involving President Donald Trump.

“I really admire that,” Vance stated, referring to Melania’s initiatives.

Though no specific plans or letters are in the works right now, Vance mentioned, “She’s definitely a pioneer in that regard.”

The letter, as previously reported, opened with “Dear President Putin,” and elaborated on children’s dreams for love and safety, regardless of their backgrounds.

Melania’s correspondence emphasized the collective responsibility of parents and leaders in nurturing hope for future generations. “In protecting these children’s innocence, you do more than serve Russia; you serve all of humanity,” she articulated.

Moreover, she noted, “This bold idea transcends any divisions, and you, Mr. Putin, would be well-suited to realize this vision.”

On another note, Usha Vance is currently championing the 2025 Summer Reading Challenge, encouraging children across America to read throughout the summer. This initiative is set to conclude on September 5th.

Vance visited several classrooms and interacted with students, emphasizing the importance of reading. She read “Paul Revere’s Ride” by Longfellow to a group of 200 students and engaged with them through questions.

Throughout her visit, Vance distributed bookmarks, further promoting literacy and an appreciation for reading among the children.

In the end, her initiatives and praise for Melania Trump reflect a broader commitment to children’s welfare and the importance of education.
