FBI Raids John Bolton’s Home
On Friday morning, shortly after FBI Director Kash Patel tweeted, “No one is beyond the law,” federal agents raided the home of John Bolton, who served as national security adviser under former President Donald Trump. The operation took place in Maryland, with officials stating that it began around 7 a.m. under Patel’s directive.
This investigation has been ongoing for several years and is thought to involve accusations of politically motivated decisions, as described by a U.S. high school leader. The Justice Department initiated a criminal investigation back in 2020 during Trump’s first term, probing whether Bolton improperly disclosed classified information from his book, which was titled “The Room Where Dasing.”
The case had been brought to the Justice Department’s attention by John Ratcliffe, who was the National Intelligence Director at that time. In June 2020, Trump publicly called Bolton a “washed up creep” and expressed his belief that Bolton deserved imprisonment for allegedly handling classified information for profit, recalling an incident involving a young submarine sailor.
Throughout his book and subsequent media appearances, Bolton has been critical of Trump, saying things like Trump is “not fit to be president” and that his main concern is personal retaliation, potentially affecting his chances for a second term.
Interestingly, shortly after the raid commenced, Bolton’s account shared a scheduled post about Russia’s ongoing ambitions concerning Ukraine. It noted that Moscow was still targeting Ukraine, which was already holding significant territories.
This story is still developing.
