Selena Gomez’s Fiancé Faces Online Backlash for Expensive Blueberries

Recently, Benny Blanco, who is engaged to Selena Gomez, shared a TikTok video featuring some enormous blueberries he received, selling for a staggering $200 per box. His excitement was palpable as he showcased the fruit, exclaiming about their size and taste.

“This is insane. Look at these blueberries,” he said in the clip. Before taking a bite, he added, “Oh my God…it’s like a meal. Can you even see how big this is?” He mentioned, “They’re f–huge. They’re tasty. I think the box is $200. That’s crazy.”

However, this display of luxury didn’t sit well with many viewers. Some fans responded negatively, pointing out the extravagant nature of such a purchase. One commenter noted, “We’re not rich enough to be related to this,” while another remarked, “This is rich and we are all poor.” Others reflected on their own financial struggles in light of the expensive fruit, with one user stating that $200 could cover two weeks of groceries for their family.

The outrage comes amid the couple’s recent engagement, which took place in December after almost a year of dating. Yet, they’ve been linked romantically since 2019, having collaborated on a song together.

While discussing their wedding plans, Blanco shared that both he and Gomez have been extremely busy with work commitments, which has delayed their preparations. “We both need to cool down. We both have worked that much,” he explained. The couple is focused on their individual projects before diving into wedding arrangements.

Gomez expressed her excitement about future planning but, perhaps somewhat hesitantly, noted, “You know, I’ve never been too sure about anything, and I don’t want to say it and jinx it.” It seems their whirlwind schedules make it challenging to settle on wedding details.
