Trump Launches American Prayer Initiative
Today, President Donald Trump will unveil a faith-based initiative in honor of the nation’s upcoming 250th anniversary at the Bible Museum in Washington, D.C. The program encourages Americans to dedicate part of their week to pray for the country, highlighting the role of faith in both the nation’s origins and its future.
White House spokesperson Taylor Rogers commented, “President Trump is bringing back a fundamental tenet of American values. We are one nation under God. As we near this historic milestone, he calls on all citizens to unite in prayer for our country.” The initiative invites people to gather with at least ten others for prayer each week.
This announcement follows Trump’s visit to the Iowa State Fairgrounds in July, where he kicked off an official year-long celebration dubbed America250. He remarked, “In preparation for two and a half centuries of freedom, I urge our great religious communities to pray for the nation. Historically, America has thrived under the power of prayer, and a resurgence of faith could significantly enhance our future.”
Monday marks the launch of the American Prayer Initiative, which aims to integrate faith-driven efforts throughout the country. Franklin Graham, president of Samaritan’s Purse, expressed the importance of prayer, stating, “Our most significant battles are often won on our knees, asking for God’s guidance and protection.”
The initiative has garnered support from a wide range of faith leaders and various religious organizations, reflecting a collective spirit that has shaped the nation since its founding. Overall, it serves as an invitation for Americans to come together and seek divine support as the nation looks to its next 250 years.
