Texas Tech student taken into custody for making offensive remarks at Charlie Kirk mourners: ‘F–k you all, my friend is dead’

A Texas Tech student was detained after video surfaced of her expressing joy over the assassination of Charlie Kirk during a conservative rally.

Camryn Giselle Booker, 18, was seen yelling in celebration of Kirk.

Following this, she engaged with a man in a red MAGA hat, who appeared visibly distressed, stating, “Evil is the real people.”

He questioned her animosity, repeatedly asking why she seemed so filled with hate. Eventually, he requested her to step back, to which she continued to provoke him until he expressed a desire to disengage.

After the man off-camera remarked about her emotional state, Booker reacted strongly.

“I’m not emotional, ma’am. Don’t tell me what I am or what I’m not,” she responded defiantly. “I can tell you what you are, but you wouldn’t like it.”

She accused bystanders of racism when they labeled her offensive.

In an update shared on social media, it was reported that Booker, who was filmed celebrating at Kirk’s grave, was expelled from Texas Tech. She reportedly exclaimed, “f-ck y’all, yo homie d*ad!”

Booker insisted her tone wasn’t offensive, defending her expression as simply being assertive as a Black woman.

Governor Greg Abbott later posted a photo of Booker’s arrest, commenting on her laughter in the wake of Kirk’s assassination.

“This happened to someone who thought it was okay to laugh at the assassination of Charlie Kirk at Texas Tech,” he remarked, adding “FAFO,” which stands for “Look around F – K.”

Charges against Booker include battery, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest. She was briefly held at the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office and subsequently released on a $200 bond.

Abbott stated that she “definitely chose the wrong school” to provoke reactions regarding Kirk’s death, expressing gratitude to Texas Tech for upholding their values.

Kirk, aged 31, was fatally shot while speaking at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025.
