Jamie Kennedy Comments on Charlie Kirk’s Assassination
Actor and comedian Jamie Kennedy expressed his thoughts on the assassination of Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA. He remarked that it’s now “easy to see who was good and who was evil,” criticizing those who celebrated Kirk’s death as having “failed miserably.”
Kennedy shared his feelings with X-Post, stating, “It’s been four days since Charlie Kirk’s public demise, and my emotions haven’t calmed down. In fact, they’re more intense. There’s this disturbing mix of profound sadness, anger, and illness.” He reflected on the exposure his death brought regarding the clarity of good and evil, stating, “It was never quite easy to see who was good and who was evil in my life history, but this gave me extreme clarity.”
Continuing, he mentioned, “There’s no more grey area. We’re witnessing the reactions of those celebrating a man publicly slaughtered before his family. It’s vivid and cruel.” He also said, “Everyone who raised you failed miserably,” adding hashtags like “We are Charlie Kirk” and “Rest in peace, Charlie.”
Previously, on Friday, he noted, “I’ve been paralyzed for the past 48 hours. I really couldn’t do anything,” highlighting the weight of the situation on him. “It really affected me,” he stated, describing the brutal reality many faced when they opened their phones to the news of the event.
Kennedy reacted to the callous comments he encountered, saying, “Oh, you live by the sword, you die by the sword.” He challenged that perspective, reminding people that Kirk’s “sword” was his ability to speak—promoting dialogue, not violence. “This was an evil act without a pure soul,” he added.
In conclusion, Kennedy expressed his condolences: “My heart and prayers go out to Charlie’s parents, his wife, his children, and all his family. May God protect Charlie in your soul, and you rest in peace.”
Kirk was murdered while attempting to engage in respectful dialogue with students at Utah Valley University. The horrific event was recorded and viewed widely, leading to reactions that stunned many, with some responding in shocking joy. For countless individuals globally, these reactions illuminated troubling issues regarding societal values and degradation.
