Starbucks Barista Sparks Controversy Over Charlie Kirk’s Name

A video gaining traction on TikTok alleges that a Starbucks barista in Yucaipa, California, rejected a drink order in the name of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. The clip shows the user’s husband attempting to place an order, only to be told by the barista to choose a different name in an effort to “not respect politics here.”

In response, the user decided to visit the same Starbucks herself to investigate. She placed her order, stating, “Charlie Kirk,” when asked for a name.

The barista quickly said, “We can’t make political names, but we didn’t even ask for names in the first place,” adding the price of the drink was $3.75. When users suggested putting Kirk’s name on the cup, the barista responded that the stickers would not be printed for that purpose.

When pressed again about the inability to write the name on the cup, the barista stated, “I did it, but I was able to write Charlie.” She then mentioned that it was a political issue.

Viewers seemed taken aback by the barista’s stance, with one saying, “Political?” to which she confirmed it was indeed a political matter. Amidst the confusion, the user ultimately decided not to proceed with the order.

Starbucks later clarified that there isn’t a policy forbidding the use of Kirk’s name, stating they were trying to understand the situation at that particular store.

Fox News Digital reached out to Starbucks for a comment regarding the incident. A representative assured that they are looking into what transpired at the location.

Interestingly, approximately a month ago, Kirk himself had named a Starbucks drink during a Turning Point meeting. He later commented on his tea-drinking routine, highlighting his need to drink a lot to maintain his voice.

Fans have taken to TikTok and other platforms, sharing images of their Starbucks orders in tribute to Kirk, often noting that they ordered what he would typically like.

One user mentioned they ordered a Mint Majesty Tea with two honey packets, tagging their post as a gesture of support for Kirk.
