‘DEI Employees Decline to Give Back’: Gutfeld Criticizes Harris for Not Choosing ‘A Gay Man’ as VP Candidate

Greg Gutfeld Critiques Kamala Harris on Running Mate Choice

On Thursday, Fox’s Greg Gutfeld expressed strong opinions about former Vice President Kamala Harris. He took issue with her decision-making as she navigates the complexities of selecting a running mate for 2024, specifically pointing out the implications of a black woman partnering with a gay man.

Harris’ newly released memoir, “107 Days,” offered some insights into her choices. An article in the Atlantic highlighted her reasoning for not picking her preferred choice, which sparked Gutfeld’s interest. Jesse Watters from Fox chimed in, saying he found the situation amusing.

Gutfeld’s reaction was candid: “I’m really a bit confused here. She says she wanted a gay guy, but that doesn’t seem to fully explain her choice. What’s with someone saying they almost did something, but backed out because it was tough? It’s about having respect from people, right? You have to take risks.”

He continued, “I mean, I chose to support Mayor Pete, but hesitated. It’s interesting how attitudes shift. If Joe Biden felt a certain way about Kamala, then how would Kamala feel about Mayor Pete? Would they even be running together?”

According to the Atlantic, Harris reflected on Biden’s 2024 campaign and noted that if she were a straight white woman, Buttigieg would have been her ideal choice. However, she also recognized the challenges involved, stating, “We were asking a lot from America: to accept women, especially black women, and those with diverse backgrounds. It felt too risky considering what was at stake.”

In the political scene, former President Joe Biden announced his withdrawal from the 2024 race, subsequently endorsing Harris as the Democratic candidate. Shortly after, Harris selected Governor Tim Waltz as her running mate, despite speculation around other candidates like Pennsylvania’s Josh Shapiro and Arizona’s Mark Kelly. Some believed Shapiro might not align well with the party’s expectations regarding diversity.

Biden, during his 2020 campaign, became notable for selecting diverse candidates, including making historical appointments to the Supreme Court. He emphasized that his administration would reflect the nation’s diversity, pledging to appoint women and minorities to significant positions if elected.
