D4VD’s Rising Fame Amid Investigation
The singer D4VD, known for his hit “Romantic Murder,” has experienced a surge in popularity following unsettling news surrounding the 15-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, whose body was discovered in the trunk of a Tesla in Hollywood Hills just a day after her birthday.
Born in New York, D4VD’s song has climbed to number eight on Spotify’s daily charts as of Monday. This is the highest it has reached since its initial spread on TikTok back in 2022.
Interest in his music videos has also spiked, particularly the eerie visuals in the track “One More Dance,” which was released in February. The video has garnered over 3.9 million views online, evoking a mix of intrigue and discomfort among viewers.
In the video, D4VD is shown covered in blood, dragging what appears to be a body before stowing it in his car’s trunk. Despite the unsettling nature of the content, it has resonated with many, illustrating a darker side of reality that people seem drawn to.
While D4VD, whose full name is David Anthony Burke, has not been arrested or charged in connection with the ongoing investigation, he recently canceled the remainder of his world tour amidst the scrutiny. This includes performances planned in the US and Europe.
Although the LAPD confirmed that D4VD is not currently a suspect in Rivas Hernandez’s death, officers searched the Hollywood residence where he was staying and collected some evidence last week.
As conversations surrounding pop culture and teen relationships evolve, some alarming details about D4VD have emerged. Screenshots from his Discord fan server hinted at a possible relationship with a girl named “Celeste,” further intertwining his narrative with that of Rivas Hernandez.
Additionally, D4VD has more than 2 million followers on Instagram and reportedly created an unreleased song that mentions the name “Celeste” twice.
With Rivas Hernandez’s tragic discovery on September 8th—just a day post her 15th birthday—her family had reported her missing at the age of 13. D4VD’s team has indicated that he is cooperating with investigators in relation to this case.
