Charges Filed Against Three Women for Stalking ICE Agents
Three women from California and Colorado are facing federal charges after allegedly stalking U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, following them from downtown Los Angeles to their homes. A U.S. attorney for the Central District of California indicated that the women live-streamed their pursuit on Instagram and publicly shared details about one of the agents.
“Our brave federal agents risk their lives every day to keep our country safe,” U.S. lawyer Bill Essayli stated on Friday. “These defendants’ actions are deeply offensive to law enforcement officers and their families. If you threaten, dox, or harm them, you will face charges and prison time.”
Prosecutors have identified the suspects as 35-year-old Cynthia Leigoza, 38-year-old Ashley Brown, and 25-year-old Sandra Carmona Summeron. They reportedly followed the ICE agents from the Los Angeles Civic Center to the agents’ homes, streaming the incident live and giving directions to their viewers as they approached the agents’ residences. The women also encouraged others to share their videos to amplify their impact.
The indictment specifies that the women arrived at one agent’s home and began yelling at the agent’s neighbors while the live stream continued. They disclosed the address publicly and urged viewers to “come down.”
They allegedly informed local residents, “the neighbor is ICE,” “Ramigra lives here,” and “ICE lives on your street, so you should know.”
The women have been charged with one count of conspiracy and one count of publicizing the personal information of a federal agent. If found guilty, they could each face up to five years in federal prison, according to the U.S. Attorney General.
Additionally, Brown is facing charges related to assaulting a federal officer in a separate case and is currently in federal custody without bail. Summeron was released after posting a $5,000 bond. Meanwhile, prosecutors have mentioned that Raygoza is still at large, and federal agents are actively searching for her.
Special agents with ICE Homeland Security Investigations are looking into the matter.
