In a heartbreaking incident, three members of a Michigan family featured on TLC’s reality series “Meet the Putmans” tragically lost their lives in a car accident on Friday night.
Bill “Daddy” Putman, his wife Barb “Neeney,” and their stepdaughter Megan were killed when a semi-truck ran a stop sign and hit their Jeep at a rural intersection near Cass City, just north of Detroit, as reported by local authorities.
The family released a statement expressing their sorrow and requesting prayers. “We lost our daddy, Neeney, and Aunt Megan. They went home with the Lord,” they said.
Megan’s husband Blake and their three children, Lulu, Arena, and Noah, were hospitalized after the crash. The family emphasized the importance of prayers for their recovery.
Law enforcement confirmed that Bill, Barb, and Megan died at the scene, while five others were transported to hospitals by helicopter. The semi-truck driver and a passenger sustained minor injuries.
“Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior. He is our hope, our peace, our salvation. Even in this time of heartbreak, we rest to know that God is in control,” the family reassured their supporters.
In a touching post on social media, Barb had celebrated her birthday just three days before the accident, expressing her gratitude for Bill, calling him her best friend, and recognizing his role as a loving husband and father.
The Putman family starred in “Meet the Putmans,” which aired for one season in 2017, before restarting the series on YouTube as “The Growing Putman” in 2021. The earlier show highlighted the family’s life within their 35,000-square-foot home, where three generations coexisted.
As of 2025, the family’s Instagram bio suggests that 10 adults and 20 children claim to live together, reflecting an ongoing commitment to their close-knit lifestyle.
