Jennifer Lopez Discusses Challenges of Filming “Spider Woman Kiss”

This past weekend, Jennifer Lopez made an appearance on CBS to talk about her upcoming film “Spider Woman Kiss.” She spoke with Lee Cowan about the adaptation and her experiences on set.

Lopez collaborated with costume designer Colleen Atwood, known for her work on projects like “Wednesday” and “Beetlejuice.” During the conversation, she stated that Atwood’s guidance was invaluable, describing it as a “great collaboration.” Lopez noted how Atwood’s attention to detail helped her connect with the character she plays, saying, “When she was very specific about it, it quickly put me in the idea.”

Lopez will don an iconic golden dress in the film, which she confessed isn’t the most practical outfit. “The gold dress was £50,” she revealed, explaining its weight made it difficult to move while acting. It was quite the challenge, to say the least. “When they lifted me up, I tried to move my legs and act. It was a nightmare,” she admitted.

However, despite the struggles, Lopez felt the effort was justified once she saw the final product. “It worked, the way the dress moved… [Atwood] was truly the master and perfect. We’ll see it on the monitor and I said, ‘Oh, I didn’t think the costume was that good.’”

“Kiss of the Spider Woman” is set to be released in theaters on October 10th, and fans are eagerly awaiting the stunning wardrobe, especially that golden dress.

Interestingly, heavy costumes seem to be popular among actresses. Just recently, Jenna Ortega was noted for wearing a Givenchy top weighing between 20 and 30 pounds. Plus, we can’t forget about the 42-pound gown worn at the Oscars in 2019, also by Carolina Herrera.
