Jewelry Store Robbery in San Jose: Multiple Arrests Made
A month ago, a robber in San Jose, California, was captured on surveillance video during a violent jewelry store heist. The incident, which involved an individual in a hooded sweatshirt wielding a hammer, occurred during daylight hours.
The robbery took place in Kim Hung Jewelry located on the 1900 block of Aborn Road on September 5th. The details of the incident have since emerged.
According to 88-year-old victim Nie, she expressed her relief about the arrest, stating that she was “very, very happy.”
Initial investigations revealed that the suspect drove a vehicle into the store’s entrance. The police reported that more than 10 individuals were involved, with at least one suspect brandishing a firearm at a male adult victim inside the store.
The second victim, also an elderly male, suffered injuries when the suspect made off with thousands of dollars worth of merchandise. The group escaped in multiple vehicles; the injured man was subsequently taken to a hospital, but his injuries were not life-threatening.
In an interview with KNTV, the elderly business owner mentioned he had also experienced a stroke due to the stress from the situation.
Detectives quickly managed to identify seven suspects: Angel Herrera, 21; Todisha Mayfield, 31; Zahari Blue Gordon, 23; Tom Dreygan, 19; Jack Samuel, 18; Cisco Lutu, 18; and Amari Green, 21.
Police monitored the suspects, executing search warrants. Samuel was arrested in Dublin on September 22nd and subsequently taken to San Francisco County Jail.
By September 30th, the remaining suspects were apprehended, with Herrera caught in Pacifica, Mayfield in San Leandro, Blue Gordon in San Jose, and Dreygan in Manteca. Ruth and Green were later arrested in Antioch on October 2nd.
Mayfield, Blue Gordon, Dreygan, Lutu, and Green will be booked at the Santa Clara County Main Jail for robbery, while Samuel will be transferred there at a later time.
During the execution of search warrants, law enforcement discovered various crime-related evidence, including firearms, loaded magazines, multiple rounds of ammunition, and a significant amount of suspected cocaine.
