Changes in Alyssa Farrah Griffin’s Stance on Wearing a MAGA Hat
Alyssa Farrah Griffin, a co-host on “The View,” has backed out of a promise made last year to sport a pro-Trump MAGA hat on air if Israeli hostages were returned home.
The former Trump aide, who has since become a vocal critic of the president—voting against him in the 2024 election—previously told her co-hosts back in December that she would don the hat throughout the show if Trump achieved a notable action, like rescuing hostages.
During that segment, she mentioned, “When I say I’m not going to do anything apocalyptic, it’s not a change of tone. I’m not going to make everything five-alarm. I promise that if he does a good thing and rescues an Israeli hostage, I’ll wear a MAGA hat on the show for a day and say, ‘Thank you for doing that.’”
One of her co-hosts expressed irritation, saying, “Please don’t do that,” indicating a noticeable discomfort with the idea.
Although some lighthearted banter ensued, including Griffin joking about a co-host taking the hat off her head, she ended up not wearing a hat during the shows on Monday and Tuesday.
On Monday, Hamas released the remaining living Israeli hostages following Israel’s release of Palestinian prisoners as part of an agreement.
In Monday’s episode, Griffin acknowledged Trump’s involvement in facilitating a peace deal between Israel and Hamas, referring to it as significant.
Interestingly, a recent cover from Time Magazine labeled the Israeli-Hamas peace plan as a ‘victory’ for Trump.
According to co-organizers, the impact of the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack—which resulted in over 1,100 fatalities and the kidnapping of 250 individuals, including children—was something every Jew felt deeply.
Griffin noted, “Whether you like Trump or not, I think he’s the guy, I think so too.” She also credited Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner for their roles in the negotiations, saying, “I thought I wouldn’t negotiate with terrorists, but the only way to get peace is to talk to the most evil people and figure out what you can do to end the bloodshed. So I thank God and pray that this peace holds.”
The White House has yet to comment on this matter.
