Alyssa Farrah Griffin’s Unkept Promise on “The View”
Alyssa Farrah Griffin, co-host of “The View,” did not follow through on her earlier commitment to wear a MAGA hat on the show if President Donald Trump managed to secure the release of all Israeli hostages in Gaza. This situation drew attention on the program airing December 9, 2024, where Griffin had previously donned a MAGA hat and expressed her intent to thank Trump for his role in the hostage release.
Hamas agreed to the first phase of Trump’s peace initiative by freeing all 20 hostages it had taken since October 7, 2023.
“I promise that if he rescues an Israeli hostage, I’ll wear a MAGA hat on this show for a day and say, ‘Thank you for doing that,'” Griffin had declared.
However, after the hostages were released, she did not wear a MAGA hat during the segments on either Monday or Tuesday. Instead, she praised Trump for his success in the hostages’ release, emphasizing that he and his administration deserved “tremendous credit” for their achievements.
My thoughts on the peace agreement between Israel and Hamas. The President and his team deserve tremendous credit for this historic diplomatic achievement, the return of the hostages, and the end to the bloodshed. Please pray for this peace to continue. 🙏🎗️
Griffin previously worked as press secretary for former Vice President Mike Pence and as a special assistant to Trump between October 2017 and September 2019, before moving on to the role of Pentagon press secretary. After leaving the administration in 2021, she joined “The View,” where she has often voiced her belief that Trump is “totally unfit” for the presidency.
She has referred to Trump as the “most dangerous man in history” and predicts he will win the presidency again in November 2024. Despite her Republican affiliation, she has openly stated that she voted for former Vice President Kamala Harris.
