Make-A-Wish executive steps down and loses position after threatening to contact ICE regarding Dodgers supporter at Brewers game

Incident at Brewers Game Leads to Resignation

During a recent championship baseball game, a confrontation between fans led to serious repercussions. The event, captured on video, revealed a woman threatening to involve immigration officials over a dispute with another fan. This incident occurred at the National League Championship Series, specifically during Game 2 at American Family Field.

Ricardo Fossado recounted that what started as light-hearted rivalry escalated after the Los Angeles Dodgers gained the lead. As tensions rose, he began recording the event and cheering energetically, which seemed to annoy some Brewers fans. One woman confronted him, calling him a “bastard” after noticing he was drinking a cocktail instead of beer.

In a humorous retort, she suggested calling ICE, claiming her status as an American citizen, which Fossado found amusing. The phrase “Call ICE, call ICE. I’m an American citizen and a veteran! … ICE won’t do anything to me, good luck!” became particularly noted in the exchanges.

However, the situation escalated further when the woman took Fossado’s phone, leading him to respond with inappropriate language. This interaction, which went viral online, prompted a swift response from the woman, identified as Shannon Kobilarchik.

Kobilarchik resigned from her position on the board of the Make-A-Wish Foundation and also lost her job as a lawyer with Manpower Group. The company issued a statement indicating that once the video surfaced, she was placed on administrative leave pending an investigation, which ultimately resulted in her exit from the organization.

In a twist, Fossado was not without consequences; the Brewers announced that he was removed from the game due to his disorderly behavior and public intoxication. Both he and Kobilarchik received bans from the park, with officials citing the physical nature of Kobilarchik’s confrontation as a factor in her ban.

The Brewers emphasized that they expect all fans to uphold respectful conduct and do not tolerate offensive language related to race, gender, or national origin. They aim to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone attending their games.

WISN-TV reported that Kobilarchik declined to comment on the incident after her resignation.

Despite the drama, the Dodgers emerged victorious in the game, taking a two-game lead over the Brewers in the series. The stakes are high, as the team that wins this series will move on to the World Series.
