Progressive DA faces criticism after GOP opponent connects policies to Kada Scott case

Philadelphia District Attorney candidate Pat Dugan didn’t hold back on Wednesday, criticizing incumbent Larry Krasner for crime reduction strategies that Dugan believes contributed to the case of 23-year-old beauty queen Kadda Scott, who has gone missing.

“This is like a fox in the henhouse,” Dugan, a former municipal judge and Republican candidate, remarked during an appearance on “Fox & Friends.” He stated, “Kadda Scott is presumed dead, and this situation has unfolded over the last eight years due to Krasner’s policies… He seems unwilling to act as a prosecutor.”

Krasner is facing increasing opposition following the case of repeat offender Keon King, who had been released on bail after kidnapping and assault charges against him were dismissed by Krasner’s office. King was later implicated in Scott’s disappearance, with her body found over the weekend.

During a press briefing last Friday, Krasner pointed to “systemic problems” as a reason for releasing the suspect on bail. “The responsibility ultimately rests with me,” he commented. “It’s not my role to blame others. If mistakes were made—and I think this one was—we need to acknowledge that and aim for improvement.”

Dugan criticized Krasner for allegedly fostering disorder but pledged to address these issues by ensuring prosecutors receive adequate training to advocate for victims and maintain the law. “Our duty as prosecutors is to safeguard the public and deliver justice,” he asserted.

“Violent offenders should face prison time… I was a judge for 17 years and managed a Veterans Court, which focused on restorative justice. Our recidivism rate fell below 10%. I believe in second chances, but those who wield guns and engage in carjackings must be incarcerated without delay,” he added.

Dugan claimed that Keon King should have been incarcerated earlier this year.

The candidates, Dugan and Krasner, will compete for the position in the upcoming election on November 4th. Attempts by Fox News Digital to obtain a comment from Krasner’s office were unsuccessful prior to publication.
