Stephen Miller Criticizes Robert De Niro
On Wednesday, Stephen Miller, the White House deputy chief of staff for policy, took a jab at actor Robert De Niro, calling him a “sad, bitter, broken old man” after De Niro labeled him a “Nazi” over the weekend.
Miller remarked that De Niro hasn’t made a memorable movie in over three decades. He suggested this streak of clunkers might be the longest in cinematic history, referring to it as a “failure” and an “embarrassment.” He opined, “This man has been degrading himself in front of the camera for the entirety of my adult life in one horrible movie after another, and he is not taken seriously by anyone—his family, friends, or community.”
Miller continued, saying, “He’s an empty shell and everyone ignores everything he says.”
De Niro’s comments came during his appearance on MSNBC’s “The Weekend.” He criticized the Trump administration and claimed that former President Trump is attempting to secure a third term in office.
In a particularly harsh critique, De Niro compared Miller to Joseph Goebbels, the Nazi party’s chief propagandist, implying, “maybe he’s the Goebbels family in the Cabinet.” He added that Miller, who is Jewish, should be ashamed of his actions.
This kind of rhetoric, labeling MAGA supporters and politicians as “Nazis” or “fascists,” has been prevalent on the left. Critics have raised concerns over this language, especially following the assassination of Turning Point USA co-founder Charlie Kirk last month.
