Border Patrol Apprehends Illegal Immigrant in Texas
The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) recently released footage showing Border Patrol’s Mounted Patrol Unit (BMPU) capturing a Mexican illegal immigrant on a private ranch in Kinney County, Texas, over the weekend.
Adan Delgado-Ortega, 52, was taken into custody and subsequently handed over to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), according to the department’s statement.
During Operation Lone Star, around 9 a.m. local time on Sunday, DPS mounted units, along with a K-9 and its handler, responded after a ranch owner activated a surveillance camera, indicating potential criminal activity.
BMPU units pursued Delgado-Ortega and eventually located him hiding in dense brush, as reported by DPS.
Upon his arrest, it was determined that Delgado-Ortega had a long history of legal issues, having been deported multiple times since 1998. He also has a criminal record featuring various convictions, including assault, domestic violence, and weapons-related charges.
Last August, Delgado-Ortega was deported from the U.S. by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Oklahoma City, but the specifics regarding his re-entry into the country remain unclear.
As of now, both CBP and ICE have not provided further comments on this incident.
