Rising Health Insurance Costs for American Families
As of now, the average American household is spending about $6,850 a year on health insurance. Employers, on the other hand, are bearing an even bigger portion of this expense, contributing around $20,143 annually. When you add these figures together, the total annual health insurance cost for a family comes to approximately $26,993.
It’s noteworthy that family coverage encompasses health insurance for both the employee and at least one family member, such as a spouse or dependent child.
While it’s clear that these costs are on the rise, one wonders how sustainable this is for families. I mean, with everything else getting pricier too, it’s a concern that weighs heavily on many. One can only hope for more solutions in the future.
