Diplomat claims Trump's Middle East peace proposal is ‘the sole path ahead’

Anbu. Waltz: No one will be left behind in Gaza

Michael Waltz, the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, recently shared insights on “Fox & Friends.” He discussed efforts to bring home the bodies of Americans held by Hamas, actions against drug shipments off Venezuela’s coast, and the U.S. stance on the U.N.’s proposed global carbon tax.

In an exclusive conversation with Fox News Digital, Waltz emphasized that President Trump’s Middle East peace initiative is “the only way forward.” He mentioned the effort to solidify Trump’s Gaza deal within the U.N. framework, ensuring alignment with an “America First” policy.

The proposed resolution would establish a peace commission, outline interim governance for Gaza, and set in motion an international stabilization force as part of Trump’s detailed 20-point peace plan.

Waltz described Trump’s Gaza plan as a “once-in-a-generation opportunity for peace.” He asserted that only Trump can unite various factions effectively, much like he did at Sharm el-Sheikh.

As the Trump administration advances its plans, history reveals a tumultuous record of peacekeeping efforts. Waltz believes that this plan presents the best hope for lasting peace in the Middle East.

“It’s a true test for the U.N.,” Waltz noted, urging support for the president’s initiatives. He reflected on the devastation caused by the Gaza conflict and stressed the importance of a united international effort to leverage U.N. tools to address this situation, all within the framework of the “America First” approach.

Waltz elaborated further, saying that this process is really about refocusing the U.N. on its foundational goals—chiefly, establishing and maintaining peace, aligning with what the president has initiated.

Trump’s proposal aims to transform Gaza into a deradicalized zone that no longer poses threats to its neighbors while also promoting redevelopment for its residents.

Under the agreement, Israeli forces would exit the region, allowing a temporary, non-partisan Palestinian commission to manage public services and local governance.

A new body called the Peace Commission, led by Trump and other global leaders, would oversee this government, with the intent of establishing the peace plan as international law.

A U.N. official indicated that while negotiations usually extend over months, they aim to conclude discussions within weeks, primarily due to the fragile nature of the current ceasefire.

“We need to act quickly,” the official remarked, highlighting the urgency in solidifying this resolution to enable timely international support.

Representatives from the UAE, Egypt, and Qatar joined U.S. officials in submitting the resolution to the broader Security Council, underscoring the collaborative humanitarial effort paramount to stabilizing the region.

Experts are urging measures to exclude terrorism-related U.N. agencies from the peace plan. Notably, the resolution—led by key figures like Jared Kushner and Marco Rubio—aims for transactional efficiency to maximize resources without unnecessary bureaucracy.

Rubio remarked on the unprecedented international backing for this initiative, emphasizing the historic nature of this cooperation. U.S. efforts are currently “moving at lightning speed,” as they seek to finalize negotiations swiftly.

Overall, as the president envisions this peace plan as a launching point for enduring harmony in the Middle East, he firmly supports its potential for a brighter regional future.
