The Mike Kafka era kicks off today.
Kafka steps in as the head coach after Brian Daboll was let go. He’ll lead a team that’s currently struggling at 2-7, missing standout rookie quarterback Jackson Dart and emerging rookie running back Cam Skatebo. In an unexpected move, the B’s have named Jameis Winston as the starter for their matchup against Jordan Love’s Green Bay Packers, who hold a 5-3-1 record, at Lambeau Field.
That’s quite a challenge.
“I have a lot of faith in Jameis and believe he’ll do a great job,” Kafka, 38, mentioned, noting that the decision to start Winston was his own.
