Trump urges inquiry into officials promoting climate change policies

Trump Calls for Investigation into Climate Change Policies

On Wednesday, President Donald Trump stated that officials pushing radical climate change initiatives should face immediate scrutiny. Speaking at the U.S.-Saudi Investment Forum in Washington, D.C., he emphasized that Americans are growing weary of what he described as “failed” far-left approaches to environmental regulation.

The forum, hosted at the Kennedy Center, aimed to unite “visionaries, leaders, and change-makers” who are set to influence global investments. Notable speakers included Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick, NVIDIA’s CEO Jensen Huang, and Pfizer’s Chairman and CEO Dr. Albert Bourla.

Trump remarked that the term “climate change” was previously referred to as “global warming” and seemed to suggest there might have been a deliberate shift in terminology by activists.

He commented, “That’s the perfect word, ‘climate change.’ No matter the weather—rain, snow, or heat—it’s labeled as climate change. Even if it’s ‘destroying the world,’ it still applies.” He also characterized it as possibly conspiratorial, urging for an immediate investigation, though he noted that it might already be under review.

Trump criticized these policies for punishing success and fostering failures, leading to significant inflation in the nation. It wasn’t entirely clear which specific individuals or policies he was targeting, although he has been a long-standing opponent of the Green New Deal, dismissing it as a “Green New Fraud.”

In a proclamation, Trump declared October as “National Energy Domination Month,” criticizing the Biden administration for what he termed a “war on American energy.” He accused it of shutting down coal plants, weakening the power grid, and relocating energy jobs overseas.

On Earth Day, the White House announced that unlike past administrations, Trump’s approach focuses on empowering Americans as the best stewards of natural resources, rejecting the notion of a “Green New Scam.”

In his remarks, he confidently asserted that “America is back, America is open for business, and America is actually stronger than ever before.”

During the forum, Crown Prince bin Salman announced plans to increase investments in the U.S. economy to nearly $1 trillion within the next year. Trump welcomed this, calling it “wonderful,” and expressed that the significant numbers achieved are unprecedented, crediting the country’s potential as a key factor.

“That’s great. Thank you. That’s great. We’re doing numbers that no one has ever done,” he said. The Crown Prince responded affirmatively, showcasing the relationship between their countries.
