Mexican man who was deported taken into custody in Texas, accused of murder from 2020

Arrest Made in Texas for 2020 Murder Case

The U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force in Texas apprehended a Mexican man on Monday, who is wanted for the alleged murder of a woman several years after being deported.

Hernan Perez Juarez, 41, also known as “Patricio Perez,” faces murder charges linked to the death of a woman found in a bathtub in Georgetown, Texas, on May 8, 2020. Reports indicate she had suffered a severe abdominal injury.

Perez Juarez was deported back in 2018 due to immigration infractions and reportedly lacked legal standing in the U.S., as noted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Authorities believe he had re-entered the United States before the murder occurred. His vehicle was discovered abandoned in Laredo, close to the Mexican border, according to statements from U.S. Marshals.

An arrest warrant had been issued for Perez Juarez in March 2022 by the Georgetown Police Department, but his whereabouts remained a mystery until now.

Recently, a task force based in Austin learned that he had returned to the U.S. illegally and subsequently arrested him in Temple, Texas. He has now been taken to the Williamson County Jail, awaiting further legal actions.

The situation surrounding his re-entry into the country, including specific details on when it happened, remains somewhat unclear. Following judicial proceedings in Williamson County, ICE has initiated an immigration detention against Perez Juarez.

As of now, the Department of Homeland Security has not provided a comment on the matter.
