Tragic Incident Involves Woman Seeking Extreme Fetishes
The partner of a UK woman, believed to have arranged for her own torture and death, is now under scrutiny by Florida authorities. Reports suggest that the woman, Sonia Exelby, was struggling with mental health issues leading up to this disturbing case.
Exelby went missing in October, and her remains were subsequently discovered near an Airbnb in Reddick, Florida.
In a distressing message sent to a friend, Exelby expressed her fear and heartache: “I’m very, very scared. I’m so hurt and in so much pain… I thought he would do it right away and not give me time to stew in my heart.”
Investigators have indicated that Exelby flew to Florida on October 10. Following her arrival, she reportedly posted on a fetish website, offering money for her torture and murder.
Just a week later, her body was found, leading officials to connect her with a man named Dwayne Hall, who had used her bank card and attempted to use her credit card.
During questioning, Hall provided inconsistent accounts about how they met and his involvement. Evidence gathered by police has pointed to him as a suspect in Exelby’s death.
Authorities revealed that Hall purchased rope, gun cleaner, and other supplies on October 10, as well as a shovel on a subsequent occasion. He allegedly picked Exelby up from the airport and took her to the rented Airbnb.
The following day, he charged $1,200 to Exelby’s bank card. Investigators discovered that he recorded a video that showed Exelby with visible injuries, in which she appeared to consent to being harmed.
Exelby conveyed her regrets to a friend via Discord, sharing, “I’m so, so scared. I’m so heartbroken and in so much pain… I thought he would figure it out quickly.” On October 14, Hall reportedly dispatched a package to a friend containing a knife with Exelby’s blood and a bracelet that had both of their DNA.
Law enforcement later noted that the shovel bought by Hall matched the one found at Exelby’s shallow grave.
Initially taken into custody for fraud related to the misuse of Exelby’s financial accounts, Hall’s charges were escalated to include kidnapping and first-degree murder.
It emerged that Exelby had previously sought someone to take her life but had then opted for mental health treatment instead. Hall later claimed he was angered after Exelby promised him $4,000 but only provided $1,200.
