Thanksgiving gratitude reflects Christian backing for Israel in the face of increasing hate

On Thanksgiving Day, I’m really reflecting on all that I’m thankful for—my family, my freedom, and the privileges that come with living in this amazing country. Like many other Christians who hold the Bible close, I’m also grateful for God’s eternal promises, the remarkable existence of modern Israel, and the deep connection we share with the Jewish community.

With anti-Semitism on the rise, it’s crucial—maybe even essential—that we, as Christians, assert our support for Israel. There’s no ignoring figures like Nick Fuentes; the early horrors of the Holocaust took root from a small, violent group whose extreme views were first dismissed. Many, including mainstream Christians, stayed silent, which led to immense suffering throughout history. It’s vital we don’t let history repeat itself.

We are, indeed, one family, united by faith and strengthened by God’s unwavering promises.

It’s been said that anti-Semitism has no room in America—now or ever.

The foundation of this relationship began with the Abrahamic Covenant. In this covenant, God assured Abraham that his descendants, the Jews, would dwell in Israel and bring blessings to all the nations. In Genesis, God tells Abraham, “I will make you a great nation…and you will be a blessing. Those who bless you I will bless, and those who curse you I will curse; and all the peoples of the earth will be blessed through you.”

This covenant isn’t just some ancient agreement; it’s alive and active today. It’s easy for some to think that it’s about “old” and “new” concepts, but God doesn’t lie or change His mind. The Abrahamic Covenant is eternal and deeply influences our history and the future of nations, including our own.

The apostle Paul highlighted this when he said that Christ came to serve the Jews, confirming the promises made to the patriarchs, so that Gentiles might glorify God for His mercy.

This covenant continues to exist because God has consistently demonstrated it through miracles.

After a long history of exile and persecution, the Jews have returned home, a fulfillment of prophecy. God stated He would gather His people from all nations and bring them back to their land. And indeed, on May 14, 1948, Israel was reestablished as a nation, fulfilling prophetic visions of its rebirth.

Israel’s survival and success can only be described as miraculous. Its victories through various conflicts, including those in 1948 and 1967, are compelling examples of divine support. Each military win, every rebuilt city, each new life, and all advancements are proof of God’s faithfulness and the enduring power of His covenant.

As Americans, we have a unique bond with Israel. Our nation’s founding principles are deeply biblical, and our narratives are intertwined with that of the Jewish people. For Christians, supporting Israel transcends politics and taps into spiritual obligations.

The prophets envisioned a future where the Gentile nations would aid the Jews in their return and rebuilding. We are witnessing that era today.

To stand with Israel is to affirm God’s promises and to uphold the roots of our faith. Anti-Semitism isn’t merely an affront to Jewish individuals; it strikes at the heart of our Christian identity.

Those who promote division through politics, misinformation, or distorted theology are veering off course. We must face these challenges with boldness and conviction. As believers, may we continually endorse God’s promises, live in gratitude, and courageously advocate for His truth.
