In just ten months, President Trump has taken significant steps to challenge the prevailing climate change narratives and what some call the Green New Scam. Here’s a look at ten key climate-related actions worth noting this holiday season.
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is working to overturn a controversial 2009 finding by the previous administration that deemed greenhouse gas emissions a threat to public welfare. In a recent statement, the Department of Energy highlighted that prominent climate scientists have established that U.S. greenhouse gas emissions do not have a detectable effect on global climate change.
In addition, President Trump has once more pulled the U.S. out of the 2015 Paris Climate Accord, arguing that it was an unconstitutional treaty pushed through by Presidents Obama and Biden without the Senate’s consent. The “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” has also rolled back hundreds of billions in climate-related expenditures labeled as “green new fraud” under the Inflation Control Act, eliminating all subsidies for electric vehicle purchases.
Furthermore, President Trump directed his administration to minimize any remaining Green New Scam expenses through bureaucratic reviews and delays. This hardball approach seems to be working, as evidenced by his administration’s recent successes in halting various offshore wind projects, including the largest one in Virginia.
In a surprising move, he nullified a UN treaty aimed at imposing a global tax on shipping emissions, warning potential signatories of pending tariffs. The treaty was deemed the first of its kind in climate taxation but was effectively boycotted, leading to its postponement to the COP-30 meeting in Brazil—an event many consider increasingly chaotic and futile.
During a fiery 15-minute address at the UN, President Trump condemned climate change misinformation, famously stating that “carbon emissions are being fabricated by people with sinister intentions.”
While this list of accomplishments is notable, there are still major tasks ahead. The EPA needs to finalize the revocation of its hazard finding and defend it in the Supreme Court. Additional Green New Scam spending should be halted immediately, as every dollar is viewed as a loss for taxpayers and further dependence on foreign energy sources.
Moreover, simply exiting the Paris Agreement isn’t sufficient. Trump’s administration should consider withdrawing from the 1992 UN treaty, the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), and reevaluate the 1987 Montreal Protocol concerning the “ozone hole,” which many believe has unfairly inflated refrigeration and air conditioning costs.
Many argue that the Montreal Protocol’s supposed success has set a troubling precedent for subsequent environmental treaties like the Kyoto Protocol and the Paris Agreement. These treaties, viewed by some as a multi-trillion dollar fraud on American consumers, have supposedly hindered America’s economic growth.
If MAGA holds any meaning, it suggests a retreat from international agreements that many consider based on flawed science. This change could be seen as a valuable holiday gift to the nation. Just a thought.
