Zachery Ty Bryan Arrested Again in Oregon Incident

The former child actor, known for his role in the 90s sitcom *Home Improvement*, has found himself in trouble once more. This past Saturday, an alleged incident occurred involving his fiancée, Johnny Faye Cartwright, who supposedly tried to run him over while their three children were in the vehicle.

Zachery Ty Bryan, 44, and Cartwright, 32, were detained by deputies from the Lane County Sheriff’s Office around noon, near a popular campground in Lowell, Oregon. The situation unfolded when they were driving in a pickup truck with their kids, and at some point, Bryan exited the vehicle and began walking along the road.

According to authorities, Cartwright allegedly attempted to hit Bryan with the truck when he jumped out of the way, resulting in her driving into a ditch instead.

Fortunately, nobody was hurt. However, during the investigation, deputies noted signs of impairment from both Bryan and Cartwright. Bryan was arrested for breaching a court order related to a previous incident. Current inmate records indicate he remains in custody without bail, with a scheduled release on Wednesday.

Back in 2021, Bryan pleaded guilty to charges related to attempting to strangle Cartwright but later downplayed the situation, calling it “disproportionate.” Despite a no-contact agreement, the couple has had three children together since then.

Cartwright was also arrested following an investigation into the weekend’s altercation. She faces charges of reckless driving, multiple counts of reckless endangerment, and driving under the influence. It’s worth noting that two of the reckless endangerment charges were acquitted, according to jail records.

The couple’s children have been placed with a family member for the time being. Over the last five years, Bryan has had several encounters with law enforcement. This includes pleading guilty to felony assault in October 2023, alongside two arrests for drunk driving in 2024.

Earlier this year, Bryan was apprehended during a separate domestic dispute in South Carolina, where he faced accusations of strangling and hitting a woman he reportedly lived with and shared children.

In addition to his three children with Cartwright, Bryan has four children from a previous marriage to Carly Matros, which ended in 2020 after over a decade.

During his time on *Home Improvement*, Bryan portrayed Brad Taylor, the eldest son of Tim Taylor, played by the well-known actor Tim Allen. He notably did not attend the show’s reunion event in late September.
