Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy recently criticized Minnesota Governor Tim Walz (D) for allowing illegal immigrant drivers to operate on U.S. roads.
Duffy highlighted disturbing incidents involving undocumented commercial drivers linked to fatal accidents nationwide. He mentioned a recent case where an illegal immigrant truck driver from India allegedly caused a crash in Oregon, resulting in the deaths of two individuals, William Micah Carter and Jennifer Lynn Lower, on November 24th.
“We’ve made strides regarding commercial driver’s licenses, but unfortunately, crashes are occurring everywhere,” he said. “We’ve found that some states are issuing these licenses to foreign nationals who have attended what I’d describe as ‘fake schools.’
“These individuals are not equipped to drive safely on American roads. We’re collaborating with Secretary Noem to tackle this, noting that California Governor Gavin Newsom had to revoke 17,000 licenses that were issued unlawfully.
“We’ve succeeded in shutting down half of those fake schools,” he added, expressing concerns about the implications of Walz’s decisions.
“Governor Walz has illegally authorized a significant percentage of these licenses, essentially allowing unsafe drivers to operate large trucks on our roads—this endangers everyone,” Duffy stated. “It’s quite troubling.”

The discussion comes shortly after President Trump criticized Walz, describing his approach to immigration as deeply flawed.
On Truth Social, Trump advocated for “reverse immigration” in light of a recent incident involving two National Guard members in Washington, D.C., describing how historical U.S. immigration policies have negatively impacted Americans, using Minnesota as a case in point.
“For instance, large numbers of Somali refugees are reshaping Minnesota. There are gangs on the streets looking for targets, leaving the original residents feeling trapped in their own homes,” Trump remarked.
“Governor Walz’s actions stem from a combination of fear and incompetence, especially while his counterpart Ilhan Omar engages in divisive politics,” he continued.
Walz did not directly address the criticism, instead suggesting, “Release the MRI results.”
Interestingly, the White House complied shortly thereafter, affirming that Trump’s health was “totally normal.”
