Desmond Bane and OG Anunoby’s Unusual Encounter in Knicks vs. Magic Game
In a surprising turn of events during the fourth quarter of the Sunday game, Desmond Bane of the Orlando Magic found himself in a strange situation with OG Anunoby of the New York Knicks.
Anunoby attempted to make a fast break layup while being surrounded by three Magic defenders. In the process, he lost control of the ball, and it drifted out of bounds. Even after Bane regained possession, the ball surprisingly stayed on course. It was all a bit chaotic.
Then came an unexpected moment; Bane threw the ball at Anunoby as a Knicks player stepped out of bounds. Technically, the ball was considered out of play for the Knicks. Anunoby, visibly confused, reacted by helping Bane back to his feet. Following this, Bane received a technical foul for his actions.
The Knicks ultimately clinched the game, winning 106-100. Despite the conflict, after the match, Bane and Anunoby seemed to mend fences as they shared a hug.
In terms of performance, Anunoby scored 21 points and grabbed seven rebounds, while also assisting on a score by Jalen Brunson, who netted 30 points and provided nine assists. Josh Hart contributed as well, with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Bane, for his part, finished with 16 points and six rebounds.
However, the loss wasn’t the only setback for the Magic; they suffered a significant blow when Franz Wagner went down in the first quarter due to a lower left foot injury. He had been averaging 23.4 points per game and had already tallied seven points within the first seven minutes of play before his injury.
The Magic announced that Wagner would undergo further evaluation once the team returns to Orlando.
