Tragic Deaths of Woman and Twins Linked to Divorce Dispute

A mother from Arkansas and her six-year-old twins were found shot dead in their home amid a contentious divorce from her husband, who is a doctor, according to authorities.

The bodies of Charity Bearis, 40, and her infant daughter and son were located in a $760,000 residence in Bonanza, close to the Oklahoma border, during a welfare check on December 3. The details were shared by local news.

Charity’s estranged husband, Dr. Randall Bearis, had faced previous domestic violence charges, accused of choking her in their home back in March. He eventually pled guilty, receiving a suspended one-year sentence and was ordered to pay over $1,500 in court fees.

In the same month, Charity filed for divorce, seeking sole custody of their children. It’s worth noting that the tragic discovery of their bodies came a day after a divorce hearing in Sebastian County Court.

Reportedly, Dr. Bearis obtained joint custody of the children during a final divorce hearing. This situation had been deeply troubling for Charity, who expressed her struggles publicly in August. She described her ordeal as a “battle,” feeling victimized yet treated as a nuisance while her husband, a local physician, seemed shielded by the very system meant to provide protection.

Charity lamented the difficulty in reaching the prosecutor, stating that her voice felt silenced. She underscored the broader implications, saying that the lives of many, particularly children, were at risk due to systemic failures.

In response to the investigation, Dr. Bearis’s lawyer stated that he has been cooperating with law enforcement, expressing hope that the truth behind this heartbreaking incident will be uncovered.
