A couple visiting Istanbul recently stumbled upon an unusual note taped to their Airbnb bed, which has resulted in a flurry of jokes on social media.

The note, shared by a Reddit user named Responsible-Lack-285, instructed: “Use only for sleeping. No other activities allowed.” This odd request was discovered by a Swedish man traveling with his wife.

The couple expressed their surprise over this rather candid warning. They mentioned, humorously, that they were taken aback by the sign but decided to follow the rules anyway. It wasn’t the only peculiar instruction they found; another photo circulating online showcased a TV remote with a label stating, “Only use to turn the TV on and off.”

While speaking with the media, the couple shared that they also saw a note indicating that their neighbor was “very sensitive to noise.” The man speculated that perhaps this was the reason for the peculiar restrictions.

Despite their amusement, they felt that these rules shouldn’t diminish anyone’s impression of Istanbul. “Istanbul is a lovely city with wonderful people,” he said. “It’s probably just a neighborly situation that could occur anywhere.”
