Former Michigan coach Sherrone Moore allegedly assaulted a woman and had been stalking her for months, according to a 911 call.

According to a 911 call, an employee from the University of Michigan reported an assault involving Sherrone Moore, the now-fired Wolverines head coach. The caller claimed she had been stalked by the alleged victim for months.

The recording, which was released by TMZ, surfaced just hours before Moore was apprehended on assault charges. Curiously, he was dismissed from his $6 million-a-year coaching position less than an hour after the report was made.

Police disclosed that they received a domestic violence call from the address of a Michigan football staff member, where she stated that a man was “attacking her.” The alleged victim mentioned that he had been “stalking her for months.”

Sources reveal that the call originated from the residence of someone identified as an “executive assistant to the head coach,” but it remains unclear if this individual was the victim in question.

Moore’s termination was classified as “for cause” following revelations of an “inappropriate” relationship with an undisclosed employee.

Moore, who married Kelly in 2015, assumed the coaching role in 2024 after he had previously led the team to a national championship. Now, he is in custody following a police investigation after being dismissed from his position.

The release of the audio followed a controversial interview with John Bacon, a lecturer at the University of Michigan and an author known for his connections to the university’s football program.

Bacon alleged that Moore, who is 39, “entered the employee’s home in Pittsfield Township, grabbed a knife, and threatened to harm her and himself.”

Currently, Moore is being held at the Washtenaw County Jail, where Bacon mentioned he is receiving protection and is “surrounded by mental health professionals.”
