Gruesome Confession in Pregnant Woman’s Murder Case
New court documents reveal that the mother of a pregnant woman found dead in a Michigan forest has admitted to committing horrific acts against her daughter, Rebecca Park, and her unborn grandchild. This shocking case is mired in family allegations and misconduct.
Rebecca, 22 and approximately 38 weeks pregnant, was reported missing on November 4. After extensive searches, her body was located in the Manistee National Forest on November 25, just three days past her due date. Tragically, her baby was not found with her.
Michigan Attorney General has stated that Courtney Bartholomew, 40, and her husband, 47-year-old Bradley Bartholomew, allegedly “lured” Park to their home in Wexford County. Courtney is Rebecca’s biological mother, who had previously given her up for adoption, while Bradley is her stepfather.
It is claimed that the couple tortured Rebecca in a failed attempt to forcibly take her unborn child, ultimately leading to the deaths of both mother and baby.
According to Wexford County Prosecutor Johanna Carey, Bradley allegedly forced Rebecca into his car, drove her to the woods, and stabbed her before performing a gruesome procedure to cut the baby from her womb. This resulted in the deaths of both mother and child.
Initially, Courtney denied any involvement but later confessed that she witnessed Bradley holding a knife to Rebecca’s throat while attempting to cut the baby out.
During the horrifying incident, Courtney reportedly told Rebecca to lie back, ominously stating, “Your baby is going to die.” Bradley later told law enforcement that the baby was not alive when it was removed, and Courtney confirmed that it was neither breathing nor crying.
In a chilling moment, after Courtney was unable to revive the newborn, Bradley expressed anger and accused her of killing their child, claiming that Courtney had wanted another baby and could not pursue adoption due to her sex offender status.
In a bizarre twist, Courtney also admitted to having a relationship with Richard Farrar, Rebecca’s fiancé and the father of the unborn child. According to court documents, Courtney alleged that Richard was abusive and had previously caused her to miscarry.
In the following weeks, arrests were made, including charges against Courtney and Bradley for first-degree premeditated murder and torture, among other serious offenses. If convicted, they could face life in prison.
Currently, both Bartholomews are held without bail pending their next court appearance, scheduled for January 13, 2026. Meanwhile, other family members connected to the case, including Rebecca’s sister, have also faced legal troubles related to tampering with evidence.
