Erica Kirke and podcaster Candace Owens have announced plans for a “productive discussion” just days after their ongoing online spat escalated on television.
This upcoming meeting will be the first in-person encounter since Charlie Kirk, Erica’s husband and founder of Turning Point USA, was shot in early September.
Erica expressed her anticipation: “Looking forward to a productive conversation. Thank you,” she tweeted.
Owens also shared her enthusiasm, stating, “I’m really looking forward to this discussion.”
For months, Owens has been pushing unfounded conspiracy theories regarding the assassination, and it seems Kirk has finally reached her limit. She has publicly denounced various claims surrounding her husband’s death.
In a recent interview with Fox News’ Harris Faulkner, she voiced her frustration over the bizarre assertions being made, referring to them as a “mind virus.” “Is the reason you’re making money off of this because somehow my loved ones are involved? No,” she asserted, urging the conspiracy theorists to just “stop.”
Kirk reiterated these feelings during a conversation with CBS’ Bari Weiss, emphasizing her desire for those spreading falsehoods to cease their narratives.
While she didn’t mention Owens directly, the podcaster certainly casts a long shadow over the topic, being one of the loudest proponents of conspiracy theories related to Charlie’s death.
In a recent podcast episode, Owens even alluded to Kirk, suggesting that she exemplifies “Megan Markle syndrome,” which involves wanting privacy while also craving publicity at convenient moments.
Owens criticized Kirk for her demeanor in a viral interview, suggesting that something strange occurred regarding Charlie’s death, which has led to heightened tensions within TPUSA.
At the center of Owens’ controversial theories is the belief that Israeli officials orchestrated the assassination, a stance that has found some backing from other notable figures.
Despite their contentious relationship, both Owens and Charlie Kirk have intertwined careers, speaking together frequently even after her departure from TPUSA. In her initial post following his assassination, she wrote about their spirited debates, likening them to an old couple.
Owens, known for her provocative statements, has faced backlash before, including a defamation lawsuit from French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife over her false claims about them.
