The lifeless bodies of Rob Reiner, the famed Hollywood figure, and his wife, Michelle, were discovered by their daughter in their home in Los Angeles, as reported by sources.
Romy Reiner found her parents on Sunday afternoon, having been stabbed to death. Authorities named her brother, Nick Reiner, as a person of interest in the ongoing investigation.
Deputy Chief Alan Hamilton of the Los Angeles Police Department shared with reporters that, while no arrests had been made yet, family members were being interviewed to gather more information about the case.
“We are committed to speaking to every family member we can to uncover the facts surrounding this investigation,” he stated.
Initially, the authorities did not disclose the identities of the deceased, but the news was later confirmed by their relatives.
In a heartfelt statement, Reiner’s family expressed, “We are profoundly saddened to announce the tragic passing of Michele and Rob Reiner. This sudden loss has left us heartbroken, and we kindly request privacy during this extraordinarily challenging time.”
Rob Reiner wed photographer Michelle Singer in 1989, and together they had three children: two sons, Jake and Nick, and a daughter, Romy. Additionally, Rob has a daughter, Tracy, from his earlier marriage to actress and director Penny Marshall.
Nick Reiner has previously opened up about his personal battles with drug addiction and experiences with homelessness.
He described how his struggles, starting in his teen years, inspired the 2015 semi-autobiographical film, *Being Charlie*, which he co-wrote and his father directed.
