Investigation into Stabbing of Jewish Man in Brooklyn

Authorities are looking into the stabbing of a Jewish man on a Brooklyn street Tuesday afternoon, which may be linked to anti-Semitic motives, occurring on the third night of Hanukkah.

The victim, a 35-year-old man, was attacked by another individual in Crown Heights. Reports suggest that the assailant made “anti-Semitic remarks” prior to the attack, which involved a knife.

This man, whose identity remains undisclosed, was stabbed once in the chest at the intersection of Kingston Street and Lincoln Place around 4 p.m., according to the NYPD.

After the confrontation, the suspect attempted to flee, but the victim pursued him. Ultimately, the assailant pulled out a “sharp object” and stabbed the victim in the chest, police stated.

Despite his injury, the victim continued to chase the attacker until he managed to escape. He was quickly taken to Kings County Hospital Center and is currently in stable condition.

In response to the incident, the NYPD has increased their presence in Crown Heights, deploying “dozens of additional officers” as they work to locate the suspect.

The assailant was last seen wearing a black varsity jacket with a number 91 on one arm and the word “Authentic” across the back.

This alarming incident came just a day after another attack in which two individuals threatened a group of young Jewish students on the subway following a Hanukkah celebration in Union Square. One of the students reported that one of the attackers made death threats while shouting “Jews” as they left the station; the assailants appeared to be a father-son duo.

Authorities believe that the subway incident, which was captured on video and is circulating online, stemmed from a dispute over seating. However, police have clarified that the two incidents are not connected.
