Fan Responds to Allegations from NFL Star

A Detroit Lions supporter who was recently involved in an incident with Steelers player DK Metcalf strongly denies accusations of using a racial slur and is urging the wide receiver to clarify the situation.

Ryan Kennedy, known for his blue wig during the game, spoke at a press conference without it and, alongside his attorney, recounted his perspective on what led to the altercation with Metcalf.

Kennedy adamantly refuted Metcalf’s claim that he hurled a racial slur during their brief confrontation, stating that he expects the athlete to retract these accusations, hinting at potential legal action if this does not happen. He also mentioned that the allegations have resulted in death threats against him.

“I want to make one thing clear,” Kennedy said. “At no point did I use any racial slurs or hate speech during the game.”

His attorney, Sean Head, reflected on the serious implications of being wrongfully labeled a racist. “It’s a dangerous situation that brings about very real consequences,” he noted.

Kennedy’s legal team is considering taking legal action if Metcalf does not publicly deny the accusations of racial taunting. “Our aim here is to rectify the situation and clarify the facts. These false accusations are harmful and must be addressed. Metcalf can step forward and affirm he did not hear any racial comments from Kennedy,” Head continued.

Head reached out to Metcalf’s attorney, requesting a public statement confirming that Kennedy did not use any racial slurs, but reportedly received no feedback.

In the wake of this incident, former NFL receiver Chad Johnson remarked on his podcast that he believed Kennedy used a racial slur during the altercation, stating, “He criticized his mother and used racial language.”

Kennedy’s legal team outright denied these allegations. “Ryan Kennedy never used the n-word or any other racial slurs. These claims are completely unfounded and lack any supporting evidence,” Head asserted.

The legal representatives highlighted the serious repercussions of Metcalf’s accusations, including threats against Kennedy and adverse effects on his business.

Kennedy, in his first interview since the incident, mentioned he only referred to Metcalf by his full name, which he believes triggered the athlete’s reaction. “Decaylin, if you’re listening, I just want you to clarify. No racial slurs were used,” Kennedy said, appealing for understanding in the face of threats to his family.

In a separate note, Metcalf was suspended for the last two games of the season due to a breach of the league’s conduct policy, which also impacts the guaranteed portion of his significant contract with Pittsburgh.
