Taylor Swift surprises Arrowhead Stadium employee with Christmas bonus: 'My entire paycheck for two weeks'

Pop superstar Taylor Swift brightened the day for unsuspecting employees at Arrowhead Stadium by leaving a generous $600 tip on Christmas Day. One of the lucky staff members decided to keep a piece of that money as a memorable keepsake.

Swift and her fiancé, Travis Kelce, who plays tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, were leaving the stadium following a game against the Denver Broncos. Their visit had a bittersweet tone, given that they had lost the match.

While exiting, they met Robin Gentry, a caterer at the stadium. Gentry shared on her blog, “I was running around saying Merry Christmas to everyone, and they came up to me saying, ‘thank you so much for working on Christmas, please take this, Merry Christmas.’ My heart froze when I realized who it was.” She felt immensely grateful in the moment.

It wasn’t until after they left that Gentry fully comprehended the significance of what Swift had handed her—six $100 bills.

“That’s about two weeks’ salary for me,” she reflected, feeling overwhelmed, especially since she had just spent a lot of money on gifts for her eight kids. “I just started crying.”

While she tucked the cash away for savings, Gentry chose to frame one bill. “I haven’t spent any of it yet,” she noted, wanting to share the touching story. “Taylor and Travis are such kind people.”

Some fans expressed that Gentry should use part of the tip to buy Swift merchandise, while others, acknowledging Swift’s charitable nature, indicated that she doesn’t fit the mold of the “evil billionaire” some critics suggest.

In Swift’s Disney+ documentary, *Taylor Swift: End of an Era*, it was revealed that she gifted her concert crew a whopping $197 million in bonuses—almost 10% of the tour’s total earnings. Before Christmas, she also made significant donations of $1 million each to the American Heart Association and Feeding America.

Her Christmas presence at the game happened to coincide with Kelce potentially nearing retirement, after 13 impactful years in the NFL. Plans for their wedding are set for June.
