Whit Keeps It in the Family
LSU linebacker Whit Weeks announced that he plans to return for his senior season with the Tigers. He made this known on Instagram recently.
Weeks, interestingly enough, not only plays alongside his two brothers at LSU but is also dating Landry, daughter of the new head coach Lane Kiffin.
In his post, he remarked, “College is so much fun I can’t quit, and right now there is no better place in the country than Baton Rouge, Louisiana. All I want to do is play the purple and gold ball. See you in September.”
This decision seems to have been made during a vacation with Landry, who shared a photo of him enjoying some time on a boat.
The couple went public with their relationship just as Kiffin was gearing up to face LSU on September 27 while he was coaching Ole Miss.
Though Ole Miss triumphed 24-19 over the Tigers, Weeks will be joining Kiffin’s team starting in 2026.
Earlier this season, Weeks appeared in eight games due to an ankle injury, logging 14 solo tackles, 31 total tackles, one sack, three tackles for loss, and a fumble recovery. In the previous season, he reached a career high with 61 solo tackles along with 3.5 sacks, one interception, and two forced fumbles.
As the landscape of college football becomes increasingly chaotic, it looks like the Kiffin family’s connections may tighten even more.
