Keith Olbermann urges for Trump's impeachment following strike in Venezuela

Calls for Impeachment Following US Attack on Venezuela

On Saturday, former ESPN host Keith Olbermann urged for the impeachment of President Donald Trump after a significant military operation against Venezuela, which targeted its president, Nicolas Maduro.

Olbermann, known for his critical stance towards Trump, shared his views on social media shortly after Trump confirmed that Maduro and his wife had been detained during the assault.

In a post on X, Olbermann expressed, “Mr. Trump is putting every man, woman, and child in this country at risk with his insane and illegal personal war against Venezuela. He must be immediately impeached and removed from office.”

This rhetoric aligns with the sentiments of several House Democrats who have accused Trump of breaching the U.S. Constitution by permitting the attack.

According to reports, the U.S. military executed a surprise strike on Venezuela late Saturday night. Residents in Caracas reported hearing at least seven explosions, along with sightings of a low-flying aircraft around 2 a.m. local time.

Trump later acknowledged the attack on Truth Social, confirming that the U.S. successfully executed a major offensive against Maduro, who was allegedly captured and exiled with his wife.

The Venezuelan government condemned the operation, claiming that “the capital city of Caracas and civilian and military areas of the states of Miranda, Aragua and La Guaira” were affected, labeling the actions as a “very serious military invasion” and “imperialist aggression.”

Additionally, Attorney General Pam Bondi announced that Maduro and his wife were indicted in the Southern District of New York.
