Mickey Rourke Refutes Claims of Financial Help Amid Eviction Situation

Mickey Rourke Denies Involvement in GoFundMe Fundraiser

Mickey Rourke has stated that he did not initiate a GoFundMe campaign to address his eviction or overdue rent, despite his manager sharing details about the situation surrounding the fundraiser.

Reports suggest that Rourke is behind on rent by approximately $59,000 and has been unresponsive to payment requests. He allegedly received an eviction notice, prompting fans to contribute to help him out. While it seemed like a positive outcome at first, Rourke sharply rejected the funds in a video message on Instagram.

In the video, he insisted he had no connection to the fundraising effort. Arrangements were made to assist him, but his manager contradicted this in an interview published shortly after. Rourke emphatically stated, “If I needed money, I wouldn’t ask for charity. I’d rather stick a gun to my dick and pull the trigger!”

The actor urged fans who contributed to the GoFundMe to get their money back, claiming he had never sought such aid from anyone. “In a million years, you won’t know what the GoFund Foundation is,” he told supporters, adding that his life is straightforward and he doesn’t depend on external help.

This situation, he explained, is “very embarrassing,” and he continued, “Please don’t give them money. If you have given them money, please give it back.” Rourke maintains he never asks strangers or fans for anything.

His manager, Kimberly Hines, informed The Hollywood Reporter that she and her assistant are assisting Rourke, insisting he initially supported the idea. However, she implied that he might have underestimated the exposure that comes with crowdfunding.

Hines expressed concern for Rourke’s well-being and the severity of his circumstances, recalling a recent episode where arrangements were made to move him to a hotel amid ongoing issues with mold and lack of water in his home.

“They were changing the locks on his house on Tuesday. We just wanted to get him out of there,” Hines explained, highlighting the urgency and her personal involvement in organizing the move. She mentioned that mold had damaged Rourke’s furniture, making many of his belongings unsalvageable.

Despite reaching nearly $102,000, Rourke reiterated his refusal to accept any donations, stating, “I don’t want anyone’s money. I want my money back.” His pride, he emphasized, would never allow him to accept help in this manner, insisting, “This isn’t my style.”
