Governor Lombardo’s Record-Breaking Campaign Fund
Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo, who was elected in November 2022, is entering spring with an impressive financial advantage in a highly scrutinized re-election campaign. He recently revealed a staggering year-end campaign fund totaling over $9 million, bolstered by an additional $4.28 million raised in 2025. According to his campaign, this marks the highest cash reserve for a non-election year ever recorded by a Nevada governor.
Alongside his campaign, two political action committees associated with Lombardo have also accumulated $5.9 million, after raising over $4.7 million last year. This brings the total political funding for Governor Lombardo to an impressive $15 million.
His campaign claims that, given these record-breaking funds, Lombardo is in, perhaps, the strongest financial position in Nevada’s history at this point in the electoral cycle.
“We are grateful for the overwhelming support from Nevadans who share our vision of a stronger, more affordable Nevada,” Lombardo expressed in a statement. “This fundraising achievement reflects confidence in our efforts to expand access to affordable housing and healthcare, ensure community safety, support educators and empower parents, and strengthen our economy. With broad bipartisan backing, we are prepared to take our message across the state and advocate for four more years to complete our mission.”
Having previously served as a police officer and Clark County sheriff for over two decades, Lombardo narrowly won against Democratic Governor Steve Sisolak in the 2022 election, becoming the only challenger to oust an incumbent and marking a significant political shift in Nevada.
Lombardo has previously voiced concerns about the risks of a Democrat reclaiming the governor’s office, referring to it as a safeguard against policies from neighboring California that he views as overly progressive.
“I will continue to do everything in my power to stop Gavin Newsom from imposing his leftist policies on Nevada,” Lombardo stated. “As long as I’m governor, it will never be acceptable for Californians to dictate to Nevadans or make them bear the costs of their flawed ideas.”
While Lombardo is touting his achievements, Nevada Democrats are attempting to link him to former President Donald Trump. They have accused the governor of adopting Trump’s policies, which they claim have contributed to high unemployment rates, a worsening housing crisis, and rising prices.
As the political landscape evolves, it will be interesting to see how the upcoming race unfolds, especially as both sides prepare to present their agendas to voters while navigating these financial dynamics.
