Red Bull New York Training Facility to Host Brazil in World Cup

A newly constructed training facility for Red Bull New York is on the brink of completion and will serve as the training base for the Brazilian national soccer team during this summer’s World Cup.

The Brazilian Soccer Federation confirmed on Wednesday that this 80-acre facility in Morristown, New Jersey, will be utilized for one of the major sporting events in the U.S. The team plans to stay at The Ridge Hotel in Basking Ridge.

“We’re confident in our choice after careful consideration,” said Rodrigo Caetano, the national team’s general coordinator. “Since qualifying, we’ve prioritized finding a location that ensures privacy, modern facilities, and comfort. After the draw determined our group and match locations, our search became more focused, leading us to this ideal setting at the RB New York Training Center.”

During the tournament, the facility will be referred to as the Columbia Park Training Center.

This facility, which has a price tag exceeding $100 million, is set to open in March and is conveniently situated just two miles from the Jets’ complex in Florham Park.

Once open, the RWJ Barnabas Health Red Bulls Performance Center will feature eight full-size outdoor soccer fields, including one designed for academy games that accommodates 500 spectators, along with cutting-edge fitness and nutritional amenities.

Red Bull New York claims that this new headquarters is “the most innovative soccer training facility in North America.”

The Brazilian Football Confederation indicated in a statement that Red Bull New York’s facilities were in high demand among the different national teams participating in the World Cup.

“We assessed various factors, aiming to secure the highest quality stadiums, hotels, and logistical facilities with minimal time zone differences, all of which could enhance the team’s performance,” stated Cicero Souza, general manager of the men’s national team. “The conditions we found in the New York/New Jersey area are exceptional and could make a significant difference in such a challenging competition.”

The World Cup kicks off in Mexico on June 11th, and MetLife Stadium will host eight matches, including the final on July 19th.

Brazil is in Group C, as determined by the recent draw in Washington D.C., and will face Mexico in their opening match on June 13th at the Meadowlands.
