Farrah Abraham’s Confusion Over Austin Mayoral Run
Reality star Farrah Abraham recently announced her plan to run for mayor of Austin, Texas, in 2026. However, during an interview, she discovered that the election is actually scheduled for 2028, leaving her understandably embarrassed.
This mix-up was featured on TMZ, where hosts Harvey Levin and Charles Latibaudiere corrected Abraham multiple times, explaining there wouldn’t be an election in 2026. She appeared stunned and a bit disoriented, and at one point, Levin humorously mentioned contacting her in two years—well, sort of. In reality, it seems that would be the appropriate timeframe.
Abraham initially shared her mayoral ambitions on Instagram but later had to revise her announcement with the right date. She had engaged her followers with polls on various issues beforehand. After the mix-up came to light on TMZ, Abraham suggested they might have been mistaken and insisted on her version of events.
During the interview, they even reached out to City Hall, highlighting her error directly. Yet, despite the evidence, Abraham was reluctant to acknowledge her mistake. She argued about the differences in local, district, and federal offices and attempted to explain election cycles to Levin.
As the conversation progressed, her arguments began to unravel. Levin pointed out that Kirk Watson would be in office for a four-year term starting in 2024, urging her to work out the math, which seemed to fluster her. She rambled about her campaign website and her efforts to collect public donations. Eventually, realizing the interview was not going in her favor, she weakly claimed there was plenty of time to prepare for 2028.
Interestingly, that might have been the most accurate thing she said. Indeed, there could be ample opportunity for many to move out before her campaign actually kicks off. Responding to the ongoing commentary on social media, she quipped, “Looks like I’m running for District 2026. Thank you. Don’t be weird.”
