Details Emerge Surrounding Tyler Robinson’s Last Meal

PANGUITCH, Utah — Reports suggest that Tyler Robinson may have dined at a secluded roadside steakhouse shortly before his arrest in connection with the murder of Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA. A local restaurateur reached out to the FBI for clarification after learning about the 22-year-old electrician’s involvement in the case.

According to the family-run restaurant staff in Panguitch, situated about three hours south of the crime scene in Orem, a patron resembling Robinson was seen eating alone at the counter that night.

“The server noted he was quite reserved, almost shy,” the restaurant owner mentioned, emphasizing that the diner seemed uninterested in conversation and focused solely on his meal. “He just wanted to eat and leave.”

The owner pointed out that the restaurant was busy that evening, typical for the generally packed dining space.

“He had a medium-rare sirloin steak, some vegetables, and a baked potato,” the owner added. He went on to explain that, as a fan of Kirk’s work, the whole situation felt overwhelmingly unfortunate and personal, particularly since he knows some of Robinson’s relatives. “We’re a close community, so this resonates with us; his grandmother is from here.”

After Robinson’s arrest, his photo circulated widely. The owner recalled, “When they released the image, I had the server confirm that they were quite sure he was there that night, and that information was relayed to the FBI.” The FBI later contacted him for further details about the solitary diner, following interviews with both the owner and his staff.

Robinson’s arrest prompted inquiries about his possible movements before and after the shooting, with text messages between him, his girlfriend, and his roommate discussing attempts to recover the rifle used in the shooting. Despite these conversations, the police didn’t initially consider Robinson suspicious when he returned to the area after the incident. Everyone at the scene had dropped their belongings in confusion during the chaos.

The investigation also revealed that the restaurant’s payment system failed to document the name on the card used for the meal, and security cameras didn’t capture the specific area where Robinson was seated. However, the owner was able to share the last four digits of the card utilized at the time.

“That’s the last update I received. I’m unsure if the FBI has confirmed anything regarding him,” he said, adding that the agency has not disclosed whether the card is linked to Robinson.

Panguitch lies approximately 320 miles south of Utah Valley University, where Kirk was shot while engaging with the audience. He was addressing questions when panic erupted, leading to widespread chaos as people fled the venue.

Records show Kirk was struck in the neck by a bullet from a .30-06 Mauser rifle fired from a rooftop, subsequently resulting in his death. Surveillance footage captured Robinson’s escape from the rooftop, where he tumbled to the ground before disappearing into nearby areas.

In the aftermath of the shooting, a rifle was discovered concealed in the woods. Authorities previously stated that Robinson had encountered officers in the vicinity but was not initially flagged for suspicion.

The owner expressed concern for his staff, stating they had only been performing their duties amidst a stressful situation, and they had received unwanted attention following the incident. “All they did was serve customers; they didn’t sign up for this kind of attention,” he lamented.
