A well-known pastry chef in Florida has sadly passed away after a tragic incident at the grocery store where she was employed. According to various reports, the North Miami Beach Police Department stated that Mordechai Grunberger, 71, was discovered deceased early Friday morning at the South Florida Kosher Market following an accident involving a commercial dough mixer.

Authorities believe he was accidentally caught in the machine and have indicated that foul play is not suspected.

“Currently, we do not see any signs of foul play; we think this incident was an accident with the industrial dough mixer,” the police commented in a statement.

After the accident, the kosher grocery store was closed, as noted by several sources.

While police have not disclosed the exact circumstances of the accident, Mr. Grunberger had referred to himself as the head pastry chef at the market.

His devastated wife, Inna Gastman Mohr, expressed her heartbreak on social media, sharing that her beloved husband, whom she described as her closest companion and the father of their two sons, tragically passed away.

“Today, I lost my beloved husband Miki,” she posted on Facebook. “I love him so much. He is the love of my life!”

In the midst of her grief, social media saw an outpouring of condolences and affectionate memories from friends and family, as Inna often shared pictures of their time together.

Those close to Mr. Grunberger praised his “noble heart,” reflecting on how he had reached out during challenging times to offer support and love.

“He was a wonderful person, a great friend and was in the hearts of all those whose lives he touched in some way,” one friend remarked.

As for the investigation, the police declared that it remains ongoing, with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) also looking into the accident.
