Musk invests $10 million to support MAGA candidate in replacing 'bad Trump' Mitch McConnell

Elon Musk Donates to Kentucky Senate Candidate

The world’s wealthiest individual, Elon Musk, has recently made a significant contribution to a Republican candidate looking to unseat Mitch McConnell from the Kentucky Senate seat, which McConnell has occupied for four decades. This news was reported by Axios.

Just last week, Musk donated $10 million to the Fight for Kentucky super PAC, which is backing Nate Morris, the founder of Rubicon, a major waste and recycling company.

Interestingly, Axios suggested that Musk and Morris may have connected through Vice President J.D. Vance, who has a close friendship with Morris.

Morris presents himself as a MAGA supporter and directly opposes McConnell. In a bold campaign video entitled “Trash Day,” he claims that McConnell has been neglecting both Americans and Kentuckians, referring to him as a “trash Trump” and a “career politician.”

In the ad, Morris states, “For too long, we’ve let trash pile up in Washington, D.C., and I’m running for the Senate to support President Trump.”

McConnell announced in February of the previous year that he would not be pursuing an eighth term.

Axios has indicated that Musk’s substantial donation could signify his intent to financially back Republicans in the upcoming 2026 midterm elections. It’s worth noting that Morris hasn’t provided a comment to Blaze News, though he did retweet a post referencing Axios’s report. Meanwhile, Musk’s companies did not respond to requests for comment.

As of now, Donald Trump has yet to endorse any candidate in this race. In a campaign video, Morris labeled other Republican contenders for the seat, such as U.S. Rep. Andy Barr and former Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron, as “puppets” of McConnell.

Additionally, several Democratic candidates have entered the fray, including Amy McGrath. However, it is widely believed that the winner of the Republican primary will likely prevail in the general election slated for November.
